ABOUT US

We understand that when it comes to selecting a paint contractor the choices are seemingly endless, and it can be difficult to find a quality craftsman that you can trust. The two main factors in the selection process (time and budget) do not necessarily go hand-in-hand.

We pride ourselves on our competitive estimates, and stand behind our ability to work within your budget and timeframe. Let us be your home improvement expert.

About the President and Founder (aka Designer in Chief)

President and Founder, Marc Arena, is passionate about Art, Design, and Customer Service.

Hailing originally from Galveston, Texas, he has resided in Fairfax County, Virginia for over 25 years. He is a graduate of Robinson Secondary School, Virginia Tech (BA Political Science, 2000) and Georgetown University (MALS International Studies, 2009).

Marc has over 12 years of experience living and working in the field of international relations - from Chile to India, and Switzerland to New Zealand. His claim to fame is having completed projects with two Nobel Prize Winners, and several multi-million and billion dollar business owners.

Forever a scholar of the fine arts, Marc began working as a student paint contractor in 1996 (Triple AAA Student Painting). Having been promoted to jobsite foreman in the summer of 1997 he managed exterior projects all over Fairfax County. Upon college graduation in December of 2000, he began painting again for a select group of clients beginning in '01; formally naming this operation in 2004. After a series of unforeseen job transitions, in June of 2012 he took his 12-year side hustle and launched the business full time.

Marc is also an award-winning artist, having placed nationally in a few competitions. Particular mediums include: charcoal, pen and ink, pencil line drawing, watercolors, and pastels.

When not working Marc enjoys listening to music, amateur photography, cooking, reading, history, furniture restoration, volunteering, traveling, sports, anything retro-vintage, and antique vehicles and motorcycles.

He also operates a YouTube channel (Retro Pop Planet) where he covers all of these topics.

The Barefoot name perfectly embodies our laid-back and fun-loving attitude, but where does it come from?

Several years ago a client noticed that Marc would often work barefoot in her home and she started calling him

the barefoot painter. While we may not practice these unsafe procedures anymore the name stuck with us.
